As Ram Mandir’s consecration nears, Ayodhya is about to witness a large number of tourists and devotees. Major domestic airlines have already started operating flights connecting major cities like Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), Kolkata (CCU), Bengaluru (BLR), Ahmedabad (AMD) and Chennai (MAA) with Maharshi Valmiki International Airportโ€™, Ayodhya (AYJ). Within 17 days of the launch of an international airport the โ€˜Maharshi Valmiki International Airportโ€™, Ayodhya is connected to all four corners of the country. The connectivity will help devotees from all across the nation to visit the newly built grand Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Ayodhya stands as a city of profound religious, historical, and cultural importance in India. For centuries, it has been a cornerstone of devotion, as the sacred birthplace of Lord Rama. The city boasts a plethora of renowned ancient temples, ghats, and sacred sites that draw pilgrims and tourists from across the globe. Among these landmarks, the upcoming Ram Mandir holds a prominent place. Here are details regarding the direct flights options available for Ayodhya-bound travelers.

Air India Express

New Air India Express B737 MAX

Air India Express is currently operating directs flights from Bengaluru, Kolkata and Delhi to Ayodhya. The service between Delhi and Ayodhya will be available daily. The service from Bengaluru and Kolkata will be available three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The Air India Express is currently deploying its Boeing 737 MAX and Airbus A320neo aircraft on the said routes.

Akasa Air

Akasa Air, Indiaโ€™s fastest-growing airline, has added Ayodhya as its 18th destination to its growing domestic network. The airline will operate daily through flights between Pune and Ayodhya via Delhi (with no change of aircraft required at Delhi) enhancing connectivity between Ayodhya and two major hubs from February 15, 2024 onwards. The flights have been introduced for daytime travel during prime hours for passenger convenience. Travellers can now book flights on Akasa Airโ€™s website โ€“ www.akasaair.com, Android and iOS app or through multiple leading OTAs.

IndiGo

IndiGo A320

IndiGo was the first airline to start flights from the newly inaugurated Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, on December 30, 2023. Subsequently, the airline has regular commercial flights connecting Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad to Ayodhya. At present IndiGo is operating 6 aircrafts to Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh from various parts of the country.

SpiceJet

SpiceeJet Boeing 737-900

India’s budget airline SpiceJet will start operating nonโ€stop flights connecting Ayodhya with Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Mumbai from February 1, 2024 onwards. The SpiceJet will be deploying its 189โ€seater Boeing 737 aircraft on the said routes.

Last week, the airline had also declared to operate a special flight from Delhi to Ayodhya on January 21, 2024 on the occasion of สนPran Pratishtaสน ceremony at the Ram Mandir scheduled for January 22. A return flight will also be operated on the same day.
